Anyway, I never think to regard this album as sequel of HB but it has the scheme of it being passed in relay race through time. Of course with lyrics that are 'lighter' in any case (more like 'unbearable lightness' actually) and more mature musical style considering the age of the band now. If you don't take it seriously, then there is no way you can get upset. Godfather, however, is a decent movie that faithfully follows the source material of the book. The only problem is that Godfather is a pretty weak book compared to say The Last Don, which was much more complex and entertaining. The problem I have with the movie is that it gets waaaay to Italian stallion on you instead of getting to the story. The only part of the book that is extra Italian is when Michael goes to Sicily. Other than that, the books narrative is focused on the characters and how they interact with each other. The wedding part was unnecessary to be dragged out so long. Leaving out Johnny Fontane's story line made no sense to me since he was also an important part of the family. Leaving out Luca Brasi's backstory was also not cool. The Sicily part got dragged out way too long for my taste. When Michael is gone, other things are happening that should have been focused on in the movie. The other non NYC family interactions are not explained well. And Vito's upbringing is in the first book but they put it in the second movie just so they could drag the shit out and make more bucks off a trilogy. Godfather as a book is not a suspense story or even a drama. It is a telling of events, a pretty dry narration. There is no real building up to a satisfactory climax or a decent resolution. The movie tries to make a bullshit one with the multiple takes of people getting killed, but it's pretty bland. I think Godfather II was the best one but they had to make up a false story just to make it run smooth. It would be cool if a movie about the Last Don is made. I would definitely want to see that. There was one point (about 2 hours through it) that I had a hope that there would be a huge ending that was just badass.... then nothing happened, and nothing happened, and nothing happened.... and it ended.
